SOFIMO ES-3000 equipment transported to a mountain pipeline repair site

A Temporary Rail Track to Reach the Repair Site

During an oil pipeline repair project in a mountainous area, the construction team faced a major challenge: transporting equipment to a remote worksite inaccessible to conventional vehicles.

To reach the pipeline, the contractor installed a temporary rail transport system along the hillside. Multiple SOFIMO ES-3000 units were transported uphill alongside welding tools and other essential equipment.

Getting the equipment to the site was only the first challenge. Providing reliable welding power without extensive cabling or additional equipment was equally important.

Integrated Welding Power, Less Equipment to Transport

Unlike conventional setups requiring a separate power source and welding machine, the ES-3000 combines battery storage and built-in welding circuitry in one unit.

Once delivered to the worksite, crews could begin welding after connecting the welding cables and adjusting the settings, without transporting or connecting a separate welder.

This integrated design reduced equipment handling, cable connections, and setup work. As welding locations changed, crews could relocate the units more easily and spend more time on actual repairs.

Replaceable Batteries for Extended Field Operations

In mountainous terrain, every equipment transfer requires careful planning.

The ES-3000 features a replaceable battery system, with a reference welding capacity of approximately 72 electrodes (Ø3.2 mm) per charge, depending on welding conditions.

With spare batteries and suitable charging arrangements, crews can extend operating time through battery rotation while keeping the main units at the worksite, reducing the need to transport entire machines downhill for recharging.

Less Setup. More Welding. Greater Efficiency.

From equipment transportation to on-site welding, the ES-3000 helped simplify the repair process by combining stored energy and welding capability in a single unit.

Fewer machines to transport, less temporary cabling, simpler setup, and flexible battery replacement all contribute to more efficient operations in challenging mountain environments.

Less equipment to move. Fewer cables to install. More time for the job.

By reducing transportation, setup, and power supply requirements, SOFIMO ES-3000 helps crews focus on welding and improves overall efficiency during remote pipeline operations.
